Ensemble for Early Childhood Education, French Coordinator of the FYFP Campaign, holds congress on early years

27 June 2022

The International Early Childhood Action Congress is held every two years and has become a must-attend event where experts, researchers, and professionals in the field share how they are working to better support public policies and quality hands-on practices in early childhood education. This year the congress addressed two key foundations for global child development: child participation and social and emotional skills from the early years — through the lens of contributions made by 20 exceptionally, passionate and committed experts.

More than 400 participants from 30 countries participated in the international congress on social and emotional skills. The meeting was organized by the Ensemble for Early Childhood Education with the participation of the OECD and UNESCO, and representatives from Porticus, La France S’Engage, and Ardian institutions. The congress aimed to build bridges between research and work in the field, and between norms and practices in early childhood development with a specific focus on fostering socio-emotional skills. The congress also shed light on the essential role of civil society in nurturing constructive dialogue, setting concrete objectives, and bringing out the voices of children, professionals and families who have very little space to express themselves.
